Hello! Your art is simply wonderful! :)
Tell me, is the path to becoming an illustrator most difficult?
First off thank you very much!! I think that it can be a difficult path, and I'm still constantly learning to become better. I think that if you have a passion for drawing, painting, and most of all picture making, telling some sort of story in an image you can continue to push through the though times and you have fun problem solving.  It's hard to say also because I am still a sophomore in college, so I don't exactly know what it is like to be a professional, that is being paid to create work haha and there are A LOT of amazing people in the industry.  But the way I look at it is they all started somewhere just like you or me. I have had some amazing teachers at Ringling College of Art and Design, and looking to the golden age of illustration is always a great place to start.  Hope that helps somewhat! haha.  I think that as long as you consider yourself an illustrator, or artist for that matter, you are constantly on the path, coming at cross roads and finding new paths. You never really reach an end if you know what I mean, and i guess that's kind of the fun of it :)
